Life is a funny thing. Sometimes with all that is going on, the day to day grid, and doing what you must, we forget the role art plays in our life. I know I have done this many of evenings after getting home from work. You are just so tired of doing what you must that you just want some joy at the end of a hard working day. It is super easy to just fall into a sitcom or a good movie (all good forms of art in their own right). But for me , anything that keep me thinking about art making is a way for me to stay in the field I want to do more of. In some ways it is like I am leaning on someone else work to keep me inspired and keep me going in the direction I want to go. This is why I have followed many artists over the years to keep me inspired in the act of art making. I would like to share these artists so that maybe you can get the same support and joy as I have. This is why I want to do an artist spotlight for the blog.
When thinking of someone that has inspired me and has found a way to bring story into the art making process, Pablo Cimadevila was the first artist that came to my mind. He is not only a great artist but also a great storyteller. He is very popular in the youtube space, so if you get your media in that manner then you most likely have seen his work. If not, then you are in for true enjoyment. Below is one of the very first videos I saw of his work. I found him when looking for how-to videos when working with metals. His videos not only tell a story, they are beautifully shot, educate on the the process, and give you an inside look into this artist. Please subscribe and follow his work if you can, enjoy.
Also, If you would like to know more about this artist you can always check him out at this personal website at https://pablocimadevila.com/ .
